Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Mani Ratnam: The choice of attendance!

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has to be released flick with hubby Abhishek Bachchan and southern newbie Vikram, directed by Mani Ratnam, ‘Raavan’ which is a trilingual film, has reportedly been taken off the rolls of the IIFA Awards function.
These Awards, to be held in Colombo Sri Lanka from 3rd to 5th June, has faced the wrath
of all Tamils, who claim that Sri Lanka had created problems for Tamils there, so the Awards should be avoided. Going by the reports, Mani Ratnam had withdrawn the film’s premiere in Colombo, as none of the Tamil filmmakers are going to screen their films there.
However, when the filmmaker, along with wife Suhasini Ratnam had gone to attend a function on the 10th morning,of the ‘Naam’ foundation, where the empowerment of 83 single women was being celebrated , of which he and his wife are trustees, the director was asked about the film’s premiere.
The director confirmed reports saying that it was true that his film was not going to be screened .Then when Aishwarya’s attendance at the awards ceremony was questioned; Mani sir said that it was Aishwarya’s personal choice. Then, without further comments, the director drove off with his wife in tow.
