Deepika Padukone on a (big pay)roll

Deepika Padukone on a (big pay)roll Deepkia Padukone's stock in Bollywood has steadily risen since her spectacular debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om.
Her subsequent films - Bachna Ae Haseeno, Chandni Chowk to China, Love Aaj Kal, Main Aur Mrs Khanna and Karthik Calling Karthik  have not done spectacularly well at the box office, but her performances have met with praise.
Her recent release Housefull has made an impressive box office opening. Deepika is now ready to move on from her branding.
As a newcomer and join the ranks of Bollywood leading ladies, and what could be a better way of doing that than asking for an A-Lister paycheck.
Mumbai Mirror reported on May 3, 2010 that Deepika has been offered a lead role in Anurag Basu's upcoming film Silence.
Which also headlines Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. Deepika is ready to do the role but has asked for a paycheck matching Priyanka's, a substantial hike on her current rate. She also wants her role to be meatier.
Deepika has also been in the news for matters other than professional. She is reported to have seen the opening show of Housefull in Mumbai on Friday, April 30, with her ex Ranbir Kapoor. The two had parted as a couple in October 2009 but are apparently back together, at least as friends. Deepika is currently filming for Break Ke Baad which additionally stars Imran Khan and Sharmila Tagore.
